The Summer Job Helpline opens on 5 May – free advice for summer employees throughout the summer

The Summer Job Helpline will open once again on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. The free advisory service will be available to answer the questions of summer employees until the end of August. The service is provided by the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK), Akava and the Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK).

You can contact the Summer Job Helpline immediately about any aspect of an employment relationship, whether it concerns an employment contract, wages, working hours or breaks during the working day. Simply send a message or call if something about the operations of a workplace has you wondering or you don’t know how to approach a particular situation.

You don’t need to know everything in advance, not even what you should ask. You can already contact the Helpline when something simply seems unclear.

The service is specifically aimed at young people and young adults, but parents and employers can also contact the Helpline.

  • The Summer Job Helpline is available from 5 May to 31 August 2026. The helpline can be reached Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., by calling +358 (0)800 179 279 (free of charge).
  • You can also ask for advice through WhatsApp at +358 (0)40 747 1571 or via the electronic contact form available on the Summer Job Helpline website.
