Tools for smooth everyday life in early childhood education and care
The early childhood education working group of The Centre for Occupational Safety completed its work in January 2025. The discussion cards produced by the working group are intended for use in the workplace.
The discussion cards are designed to support the smooth flow of everyday life, the coping of personnel at work and workload management. They help the work community discuss and agree on practices that make everyday work smoother.
There are five discussion cards in total. One card guides you to discuss one theme at a time. The themes are:
- A functioning work community is the starting point for smooth everyday life
- We promote well-being at work together
- Work hazards and the workload are managed together
- We maintain work ability
- We strengthen and share competence.
Everyday life in early childhood education and care goes smoothly when the work, working environment and working conditions are developed together. A well-functioning work community and goal-oriented management of well-being at work are also key to managing the workload in early childhood education and care workplaces. Competence development and maintaining work ability are strongly linked to coping at work as well.
