SuPer: New strike notice for the private social services sector
SuPer, as part of Sote ry, has today issued a new strike warning concerning around 50 workplaces in the private social services sector. The strike will begin on 10 March and last for three days.

The purpose of the new strike is to hasten the resolution of the labour dispute. The negotiating parties returned to the National Conciliator’s table on Friday 20 February, but negotiations have not progressed.
– The pay differences between the private social services sector and the public sector, as well as compared to male‑dominated sectors performing equivalent work, must be reduced. The gap cannot be closed without targeted pay allocations that exceed the general level, says SuPer’s president Päivi Inberg.
SuPer notes that through a provision in the collective agreement, the Finnish Association of Private Care Providers (Hyvinvointiala Hali ry, representing the employers) has committed to reducing pay differences. The parties agreed to reduce pay disparities particularly in the lowest pay categories where the difference compared to public‑sector wages is greatest. This applies especially to practical nurses.
New strike for around 50 workplaces
The strike begins on Tuesday 10 March 2026 at 00:01 and ends on Thursday 12 March 2026 at 23:59.
The strike affects around 50 workplaces operated by Attendo, Esperi and Mehiläinen across Finland, excluding Lapland and North Ostrobothnia, which were covered by the previous three‑day strike.
All members of Sote ry (SuPer, Tehy and Erto) working in units covered by the strike and subject to the collective agreement for the private social services sector (SOSTES) are included in the strike. Work performed in these units under the SOSTES collective agreement is work subject to strike action.

The right to strike is protected by Finnish law and international agreements.
The recruitment ban and the ban on shift changes still in effect
On 29 January, SuPer declared a recruitment ban for all Esperi, Mehiläinen and Attendo workplaces where the SOSTES agreement is applied as well as a ban on shift changes at all workplaces covered by the SOSTES agreement. These collective actions remain in effect.
