Collective agreements
The minimum condition that must be followed in employment contracts and relationships are defined in a collective agreement. It defines e.g. salaries, bonuses, working hours, annual leave, and compensation for public holidays, as well as other key employment conditions. Separate negotiations are conducted for each agreement by trade unions and negotiation organizations formed by trade unions.
SuPer represents practical nurses and social and health care professionals with vocational upper secondary qualifications both locally and in national collective bargaining.

Which collective agreement do I apply?
SuPer negotiates on behalf of its members for various collective agreements in the public and private sectors. The public sector includes the state, municipalities, and wellbeing services counties. Employers include institutions and workplaces that are not corporate entities. Examples of public sector workplaces include health centers, hospitals, daycares, and municipal schools.
The SOTE agreement applies to the social and health care personnel of the wellbeing services counties.
The largest professional groups in the HYVTES agreement include staff working in office and administrative tasks in the wellbeing services counties and joint county authorities, catering staff, as well as fire and rescue personnel.
The KVTES agreement is followed by municipalities and joint municipal authorities. Childcarers in early childhood education and care are the largest personnel group in the KVTES agreement, and school guidance counsellors are also part of this collective agreement.
KT’s private sector collective agreement for staff leasing applies to companies engaged in personnel leasing to municipalities and wellbeing services counties.
The SOTE agreement and HYVTES are applied in full for KT’s social and health care sector companies (with their own signing protocols). Pay increases are the same as those in the SOTE agreement.
The private sector consists of companies, including those owned by the state or municipalities, as well as businesses and foundations. Jobs in the private sector can be found in places such as elderly care homes, mental health and substance abuse units, home care services, day care centers, private hospitals and health clinics, and rehabilitation facilities.
The SOSTES agreement is implemented in social sector service units, such as private care homes for the elderly and disabled, old people’s homes, mother-and-child homes and shelters, home services, and various social and health care organizations.
The TPTES agreement is adhered to for example, in private hospitals, private medical and health stations, laboratories, rehabilitation facilities and health spas, as well as in the Blood Service.
Private Early Childhood Education Collective Agreement (VAKATES) applies to educated childcarers in private early childhood education and care sector.
The collective agreement of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is a house-specific agreement. It is applied to the terms and conditions of employment of the employees of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
