The occupational safety representative serves as the employees’ representative, raising issues that impact workplace wellbeing and the work community with the employer.
This role offers many opportunities to influence workplace matters and contribute to creating a safe and healthy working environment – always in cooperation with the employer. Read more about the role.
The ideal occupational safety representative is familiar with the working conditions, is eager to improve them, and brings energy and insight into the role. In short: The representative should be a SuPer professional!
When and how do I vote in the occupational safety elections at my workplace?
The selection of representatives follows legal regulations. Elections are typically held between September and November 2025.
You can get more information about the elections directly from your workplace. A formal notice of the election must be provided – either visibly posted at the workplace or sent via email to eligible voters.
This notice should be delivered at least two weeks before the election date.

As a SuPer member, you’re an expert in your own work and understand the everyday challenges of your workplace. If you’re courageous enough to raise important issues, have strong communication skills, and want to help improve your work environment, consider stepping up as an occupational safety representative.
